How to use the device toolbox

The device tools respond only to deliberate user clicks on the current page; mouse events and screenshot results remain in browser memory and are not uploaded or used to control system devices.

  1. Select mode

Select mouse recording, lightweight screenshot, or screen ruler mode, and read the permission prompt first.

  2. Active authorization

Browser permissions are requested only after the corresponding button is clicked; after denying permission, you can try again or use a mode that requires no permissions.

  3. Check and clean

When finished, stop the media tracks, clear the recording, and download the local result; leaving the page will clean up temporary resources.

Limitations and Notes

  • Mouse recording records only events on the current webpage; it does not control the system mouse or record the keyboard or background windows.
  • Screenshot capabilities are limited by browser permissions, cross-origin resources, and platform policies; no image is fabricated when permission is denied.
  • The screen ruler uses CSS pixels; physical millimeter accuracy is not guaranteed when uncalibrated, and the result is not saved automatically.

FAQ

Can I still use it after denying permission?

Yes, the page keeps the mouse recording and screen ruler features available, and you can click again to retry.

Will the recording be uploaded?

No. Recording events are processed only in the current page’s memory.
