How to Use Image Privacy Masking

Image decoding, selection processing, and export are all completed in the current browser. Nothing is uploaded, and no face recognition is performed.

  1. Load Image

Choose browser-decodable PNG, JPEG, or WebP images, then drag in the preview to create a rectangular selection.

  2. Set masking

Choose blur or mosaic and intensity for each selection area; you can add multiple regions and undo.

  3. Export Check

Choose PNG, JPEG, or WebP to export. Zoom in to check whether sensitive information is sufficiently covered before sharing.

Limitations and Notes

  • Only manual rectangular selection is provided; faces, license plates, or text are not detected automatically, and the coverage area cannot be guaranteed to be complete.
  • Exporting will re-encode and usually remove original image metadata; JPEG/WebP may introduce lossy image quality changes, and animated images only process the static frame decoded by the browser.
  • Single-file limit 20 MiB, 12 million pixels, longest side 8192 pixels; large images near the limit may still fail to process on low-memory mobile devices.

FAQ

Can text still be recovered after blur or mosaic?

Neither guarantees irreversible anonymization. Do not rely on this tool alone for highly sensitive content; use verified solid-color masking or a dedicated anonymization workflow instead.

Will it automatically find faces?

No. This tool does not load recognition models; all areas are manually selected by you.

Will the original image be modified?

No. The browser only generates a new downloaded file, and the original local file remains unchanged.
